Heidi Sander composed her collection The Forest of My Mind as a response to the death of her mother. Comprising themes of family, memory, hope and nature, the poems touch upon the various stages of loss while offering a sense of hope and renewal. The award-winning poem, "How We Live On" is Heidi’s recipe for remembering.
